After stopping the refinery process, Lapouyade mill was transformed into a “run-of-the-river” Hydro electric power plant.
The power plant uses the flow of the river “Isle”, as it is, to produce Green Energy, Renewable Energy.

Hydroelectricity is considered a clean and inexhaustible energy.

Hydro electric power or hydroelectricity is a renewable electric energy obtained by the conversion of hydraulic power from different currents of water from the river “Isle”.
The kinetic energy of the water current is transformed into mechanical energy by a  turbine, then into electrical energy by the means of an alternator.
